Let locals thrive
We connect travelers to local people and places. Local communities that need access to knowledge, to hands, or to a worldwide network of people. Travel ranks high on the bucket lists of so many. At the same time, helping others in our spare time is on that same bucket list. Especially now, in a time where traveling the world without giving back has become unacceptable. Why not combine traveling with sharing knowledge and hands during your holidays and travels? And help local people to sustain and grow. On top, all these places are great to visit. They’ll leave an everlasting memory.
Local projects
Local Happinez offers local projects to which you, as a traveler, can contribute your time and knowledge. Projects that take an average of one day (part) of your holiday and are easily integrated in the rest of your holiday.
An example of such a project is in Yenangyaung. In a small village, off the beaten track, is a beautiful guesthouse situated on the banks of the Irrawadee.
All income from the guesthouse flows to the local school. As a traveler, you can train the local kitchen staff in the guesthouse how to bake bread with the new oven. In return, you, as a traveler, receive local cooking lessons.
Projects where travelers are needed for a longer period are also offered. For example, a small village south of Ho Chi Minh has problems with the water supply. They are eager to solve these problems and need access to people who know how to solve their problems. In exchange for the knowledge, you’re invited to stay in the village and enjoy local life and be part of their local community.
